XP freezes on Start Up

When my computer starts up, it gets past the welcome screen in XP, then the
background loads with no icons or anything else and it freezes right there.
If I press control, alt, delete then simply exit out of the windows task
manager that pops up, my regular desktop loads and everything is normal from
there. I have no clue what could be causing this and I am open to all
suggestions. Thank you.

Something in your startup group is not operating correctly. You need to
