Hello,
I've been having the following problem for the past several days.
When the computer gets past the Splash screen to the "Windows Is Starting"
screen, comp. hangs. Have to use the Power button on the tower to turn it
off. When I power back on I can go into Safe Mode and shut down normally
from there. Usually, when I power back on from there I get an Error Message
"Unable to log you on because of an account restriction" with a shaded box
in back looking to log me in as Administrator.
If I'm lucky to get that far and click [OK] to the error message I get my
regular log in screen, click my name and all is well. But sometimes I have
to repeat the above paragraph a few times.
This started several days ago and the only thing I remember doing
differently is I tried to use a web page as my desktop, but didn't work out
so went back to just the picture I had before.
Any ideas what's happening or correct it. I'm the only user of this
computer and have it set for no passwords. Perhaps using system restore?
New to XP here but otherwise have been using computers for 15 years.
Thanks, bill n
