XP folder viewing options question

I like to look at the folders and files as a vertical list with the
"details".

How do you set that to the default option for all directories and folders?

Set it up how you like it, and in the menus on Windows Explorer, choose
Tools/Folder Options, choose the 2nd tab 'View' and click 'Apply to All
Folders'

You can set this as a default for folders from the info from the other
poster, but not for the Open and Save dialog boxes. Those will reset each
time.
