xp floppy problem

Hi
Everytime I try to use the A drive ( floppy disk) I get a message please
insert dics into A drive.Will not recognise when disc has been inserted

I have checked device manager and all is present and working but when I
check disk management all I have is

c drive on disc o which it says is healthy and cd rom (d) which has nothing
by it.

There is no sign of an a letter anywhere. I have look all through the
forums.

Cleaned up nero with its facility etc

I need the floppy to work as I am tring to network our two computers and I
need to run a network disc.

I do have a cd/rw but I am at a lose as to how to use the cd option to put
the network info on.

Please help if possible

what is a network disk? sounds interesting.

besides checking that your floppy drive works and is installed
correctly. You should know how to make a boot cd.

I think nero express makes it easier. it's part of nero.
