I visited a site where I was supposed to get a pin
number. After one attempt it does not allow you to
access within 24 hours. When I called to ask what the
problem was they stated that Windows XP is excellent for
setting up firewalls automatically - My question is how
do I turn the firewall off so that I can access my
information.

Go to my connections. Right click on your internet connection, go to
properties, advanced tab and uncheck the firewall. Be careful going without
a firewall for very long. If you don't have the proper windows update the
msblaster virus will entire your system in short order.

open your network connections, right click on active
connection, select properties, select advanced, unselect
firewall

Hi

First of all - it is a PIN, not a PIN number. That said, you can disable the XP firewall by going to Control Panel>Network Connections - then right click on the connection and select Properties>Advanced. You can then turn the XP firewall off in there.

*****Please note, that if you turn the XP firewall off, you will need install a 3rd party firewall*****

Try ZoneAlarm - www.zonelabs.com
