The windows firewall has been turned off on my computer.
After following instrustions from the security centre and the help site, i
have been unable to turn it on again!
Has anyone had the same problem? Is there a solution?

Thanks!

Is the Windows Firewall service not starting?

Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services > Locate "Windows
Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing" and start the service then set to
"Automatic"

Is the Windows Firewall restricted (greyed out)?
Edit the Registry (Start>Run>regedit.exe)

[HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft]
Delete the registry key "WindowsFirewall"

Then I would suggest performing a full system scan for parasites. Making
sure you update the definitions files before performing these scans. And
make sure your Anti-virus protection is fully up-to-date.

Type in Start, Run:

Firewall.cpl

Set the status to "On"

If the options are grayed out, see:
