xp firewall

Hi

Every time i connect to the internet the firewall is turned off and i have
to activate it manually.

Is this normal practice.

Not the norm. Do you have SP2?

If so START>ACCESSORIES>SYSTEM TOOLS>SECURITY CENTRE
will take you to the configuration page.
