XP File Sharing

A customer has a new Tablet PC which has XP Tablet Edition with SP2. He has
a set up where he uses a file sync program to sync files between the Tablet
and his desktop. The C drive is shared at the root. (the user has accepted
the security risks)

The problem is he cannot view his user folder in Documents and Settings.
His user folder isn't marked private. The computer is networked through a
Workgroup rather than a Domain, so I'm not sure how to set the permissions
correctly to allow him to view the contents of his user profile. Can
anyone help me?

Thanks

-Jeff

.
Check to see if the a firewall is turned on in either
computer.

The firewall is turned on, but that isn't the problem. If I'm not mistaken,
when you turn on file sharing, the appropriate holes are punched in the
firewall. Either way, all the other folders can be accessed, so it most
likely isn't a firewall issue. If it was the firewall, than I wouldn't be
able to view any of the folders on the computer.

Thanks for the reply, though.

Ok, I think I found a fix. If I also share the user profile directory, it
seems to set the permissions correctly so that I can view the files when
accessing the shared C drive. The only downside is that it creates a second
network share that is viewable on the network. I suppose I can put a $ in
the share name to make it hidden, though.

Thanks to all that thought about my little problem.
