Xp embedded in C:

news

hello,
I have barebone with two partitions: 1 Xp Pro and 2 Xp embedded. Now I am
trying to install XP embedded in a disc in white, but I have not been able.
In target Designer fixed the settings:
1.Boot Driver -- C:
2.Windows to folder -- C:Windows
3.program you case out to folder -- C:program Files
4.Documents and Settings to folder -- C:\Documents and Settings
5.Boot ARC path -- multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)
6, Boot Partition -- 4088
And what I do it is to put in the disc of barebone ALL the archives that has
created me in the folder windows embedded image. Soon ON barebone with the
this hard disk but it leaves error disc.
I think that something this remaining without doing or I am making it bad.
For the installation of XP Embedded in partition 2 of the disc I did not
have problems, anybody me can make use.
THANKS, Moli

Moli,

Could it be that the disk and partition is not marked as active? Also make
sure that if using FAT32 to run bootprep.exe from DOS to prepare the disk
for booting XPe.

The easiest way to get something started is to:

1) Create a partition on the disk, and mark it as active.
2) Format the disk with NTFS.
3) Copy the contents from the build directory to this disk.
4) Boot through FBA.

Brad

Thank you very much Brad,
I am going to follow the steps that you indicate to me. The directory
created by target designer contains the following archives:
1, Veruntime
2, boot
3, ntldr
4, ntdetect
5, Windows
6, program you case out
7, Documents and settings
when I put xpe in the second partition only copies 5.6.7, to put xpe in a
disc with a single partition I am copying all the archives of 1-7. I am
doing it well?
Thanks, Moli

Hello Moli,

Yes, you will want to have boot.ini, ntldr, ntdetect, etc in the root of the
drive when using a single disk / partition setup.

Brad
