XP Emachine System Slow Down

My Windows XP E Machine slowed down about 75% on all applications.

It has all of the microsoft updates, I have done Norton
Anti Virus, and adaware scans, defrag and find nothing wrong.

I only have an XP restore CD so I don't want to wipe the system clean.

Any ideas ?

How many programs do you have running? How many programs
have you installed? Do you clean the temp files and defrag?

Some Emachine tends to do that

However, real player in more likely the culprit. Since it is
unfortunately include with the emachine. I would uninstall real
player in the add/remove program. After reboot. I would search the
registry for keys and values related to real player and real media.
Delete either the key or the value if not sure delete just the value.
Do this for each user.

There is way to do a clean install of xp but it complicated
