Over the last month I have upgraded a few of my users pcs to XP sp2 since
that time they all keep dropping one drive letter. We use the P as the drive
to map to users personal dir on one of our servers. On these pc’s the p drive
disappears on reboot. What is really weird is that I can map another drive
letter (H or X or etc…) to the same location and it will stay, it only
happens when I choose P.
All the hardware is different, 2 of them are new and 2 are a few years old.
The server enivorment is a mix of NT 4.0 domain with some 2000 member servers
and 2 2003 member servers. We are not using AD but I hope to move to that
later this year. I feel that this may have to do with the first 2003 server
going in but that is hard to know because that went in about 5 months ago and
these are the first XP I have added since that. I have 85 users and I really
don’t want some of these to have a personal drive X and other to have P. I
can go change all my users but this does not make any sense. Anyone have any
idea?????
