xp doesn't store usernames and passwords

Earlier when I entered an Internetpage that needs an
username and password for the first time I got a screen
offering to store these entries. Now I don't get these
anymore and even sites in which I can click on a checkbox
to store these values don't store these.
Is there a way to get it back?
Conf. Win XP pro connecting to Internet with router.

Try this: "AutoComplete Does Not Save Username and Password"
