xp does not recognise all hard drive

I have had to format and reinstall xp. system now tells
me my hard drive is 2gb instead of 15gb, it worked ok
before reinstalling windows as a new (and aging user I am
lost. any idiot proof suggestions please

Did you by chance partition the drive while re-installing XP? Open
Disk Management and see what it says about partitions and the size for
each. To use Disk Management =

Click on RUN. Type in "diskmgmt.msc" (no quotes) and press OK.

It should display information regarding the hard drive. How many
partitions, size of each, type, etc. Look to see which drive
letter(s) if any are assigned to the partitions. Post back.
