XP does not detect CD-ROM

The XP Pro on my computer does not detect the 2 CD-ROMs I
have in the PC. During the PC start up, it detect the CD-
ROMs, but once I get into XP, it does not show in the
hardware list and does not show in the drive list either?
I had this problem before when I unintall EZ-CD Creator.
But this time I didn't even have EZ-CD Creator on this PC.
Anybody have any suggestions? Greatly appreciated.

Make sure you are using a valid Drive Letter. (search for Drive Letter in
Start Help.
