Hi,

I have recently upgraded to XP and my display is garbled and fuzzy. Icons
and pictures and folders are garbled and fuzzy. I have checked the monitor
driver which is correct and the video driver as well. Any ideas?

Thanks

Check your video cable to the card - Make sure that no pins
are bent. Also, monitor's become magnetized. There should
be a button or function of the OSD to degauss the monitor.
When pressed, the monitor will hum and the image on the
screen will momentarily "wiggle". You can do the degaussing
a couple of times.

Thanks for the post. It is not the monitor and when I mean fuzzy it is
actually windows xp. The folders with XP theme on side is fuzzy, wizards
are distorted. Also, it is not the video card being loose. Any other
ideas?

Thanks

Try disabling font smoothing: Right click desktop > Properties > Appearance

do you have cleartype turned on (right click desktop, properties,
appearance, effects). You want it off for a CRT, on for (most) TFTs.
Also check your refresh rate .. try varying it, and/or varying the
resolution.
