XP desktop keeps aligning

I have xp and I recently noticed that the desktop icons keep aligning. I do
not have it set to align icons, and deselecting "align to grid" doesn't seem
to do the trick. What could be happening?

If you have more than 400 folders total, it may be causing the problem.
Go to this website http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm and then
select * Increase Folder View Size Limit to 8000* once this is done, your
problem should be too.
I did it several months back and all if fine and has been.
 
Still having the problem, happened all of a sudden, around the time I
installed an update for a GEARSEC driver for Cakewalk Pyroâ„¢.
 
I have the same exact problem. The "tweak" didn't work for me either.
Can't find any help with my IT people here.
