Jimbo

i hope someone can help me because this is really getting
on my nerves!
after browsing onto a website and trying to download
a 'weather station monitor' thing, all of a sudden i now
have a large white bar to the left of my screen which wont
go away. At the top is a heading 'folder tasks', next down
there is 'other places' and beneath that 'details'.
Whenever i select a folder on the desktop it is explained
and expanded in this left hand bar. Thing is, ive got no
idea why its there, or how to get rid of it. please
somebody help its driving me mad!
