XP computers not getting group policy

K

Kim

I have several XP workstations that according to gpresult,
only receive the default domain policy, and not the group
policy that is applied to the OU that the computer object
resides in.

Is there something special that has to be done for XP
clients?

If it is receiving the default domain policy then the client is able to
receive policies. That would indicate that there may be a problem with the
GPO. Check the permissions on the GPO and verify that the client has read
and apply group policy permission . Try creating a test policy and enable
a setting under computer configuration. Reboot the client and run rsop.msc
or gpresult.exe to determine what policies have been applied. Check the
application log on the client for errors. You can also enable userenv
logging to see what is happening. The following article will show you how

This permission is found when you view the permissions of the group policy
object.

Tim,

Thanks. I found the "apply group policy permission". I still have the same
problem. I also attached gpresult (proxyset.txt) for your review.

What I did are: 1. Created OU called CBG Groups. 2. created a group called
ProxyUsers under CBG Group and assigned users into the member. 3. Delegated
control and check Manage Group Policy Links. 4. setup a policy called
ProxySettings under CBG Group and click Edit to modify proxy points to
127.0.0.1.

From the attachment, you can see I am in the ProxyUsers group but the policy
didn't apply. Did I miss some things?

Thank you again.
