The sitc:
I have roughly 20 XP client in a Windows 2000 server AD
domain. User have not been able to change there own
domain passwords since around may of this year. Password
are set to expire every 3 months.

I have checked all of the obivous permissions, etc and
they should have 'rights' to do this.

Facts:
All service packs and security fixes are in place on both
the servers and the clients.

Anyone have an idea or suggestion?

Well what you have to do is go the active directory for user and computers ( try first with one user ) right click on ther name and go to the security tab and click the "ADD" and add everyone and check the "Change password" and then just press apply tell the user relogon in and then just CRTl +Alt + Del and then press change password and try it. Email me if it works or not.

What shows in the event logs of the client and the
domain controllers when a user attempts and fails
to change their pwd ?
When you run netdiag at a client machine does it
show any failures ?

Oops, should also have asked the obvious.
The account properties do show that the account objects
have the User cannot change password box not checked,
right?

I see you have not checked the replies.
Anyway, an even more obvious thing to check
is that you do have a PDC emulator FSMO still.
For example, if you retired a DC back in May
and forgot to move FSMO roles first you might
have ended up without a PDC emulator. Also,
if you do have one is it registering its DNS records
correctly so it can be located ?

Sorry about the delay....had a very long vacation.

I have attempted this but the >security tab is not
present. Any ideas?
