XP Client login to W2K domain problems

Susan Stephens

I have a W2K domain server and XP clients. I get an error
message on some of the xp machines that there is no trust
relationship with the server to add domain users to the
machine. I can add a local user and acces the domain
through window explorer. how can I fix this problem?
ALso the event viewer o the server says that the GUID for
the computer needs to be reset. How do I do this?
Thanks,
Susan Stephens

Hi Susan,

I encountered the same problem today, and found out that
you have to check the computer in the active directory.
There is a check-box to delegate trust. XP-clients default
to unchecked. As well as wireless computers accessing the
domain by the way.

This is the way to do it:
Click Start, Programs, Administrative Tools, Active
Directory users and computers
Select Domain, computers
right click the computer with the trust-problem
click properties
Check the box "Trust computer for delegation"

That should do the trick !

Good luck,
