XP CD with OEM Key

A bit of background first, I have a customers PC that I need to do a wipe
and reinstall on. However it is an OEM install for which I have the CD Key
but not the recovery CD's.

My question is: If I use an MSDN XP CD to reinstall will it accept the OEM
CD key?

In case it makes a difference both the OEM install and my MSDN CD are XP
Professional. I am aware that by not using the recovery CD's I won't get
the OEM drivers, but I can get by that and sort them out manually.

Hi,

Won't work, you need an OEM install set. The different versions use
different algorithms for the keys.

Try calling the computer manufacturer and ask for a copy of the recovery
CD's. It worked for me with Toshiba. They were nice enough to overnight
them to me.
