XP cd key

I bought XP while ago from best buy, and have reformated several times sence,
then I updated one day and got soeme message sayimng I have an illegal copy
of windows, what do I do about that?

If the software is Retail, contact Microsoft for help.

If the software is OEM, you may have to call the Product Activation phone
line. Microsoft has block all OEM Internet activations because of several
brand-name OEM CDs were being sold separately off the Internet (not sold
with PCs.)
