Hi there.

I am trying to set up a briefcase to back up data from an
external drive (usb) to a folder on the computer. The
briefcase is only getting about 24 Gig out of a 32 G
folder. It then crashes when I update it, using the
update button. Is there a limit specified on size, or is
it governed by processing size ( memory ) or something?

If you have any insight, please e'mail me at:

(e-mail address removed)

thanks,

steve c.

I don't know much about Briefcase anymore, but I don't use it, haven't for
years, don't even use Offline Folders now that I've found SecondCopy 2000
from www.centered.com
They have a 30-day eval. It works really well. I have no affiliation with
the company, mind you...just like their stuff.

Another option - use xcopy or, better yet, robocopy (from the resource kit)
to do this - a scheduled batch file might be of use.

Note - posting your valid e-mail address in a newsgroup post, or in your
news account settings, is a surefire way to get spam and SWEN and other
viruses sent to you....see http://www.mailmsg.com/SPAM_munging.htm for help
in the future, but note that now that your address is out there, there's not
much you can do other than changing your address. Also note - when you post
in a newsgroup, people are supposed to reply to the group, so that everyone
can follow the thread. ;-)
