Briefcase woes

Rob

Hi,

I succesfully use briefcase on one computer, but I'm having trouble trying
to do the same on a laptop using Windows XP Home. (And also on another
computer.)

When trying to add a folder or a file to a new briefcase, I keep getting the
message "[name of file] cannot be updated because its merge handler cannot
be loaded."

I've deleted the briefcase and created a new one many times and continue to
be thwarted with this message.

Any ideas anyone?

Thanks Curt. I think that is the problem but the answer to that I might
need some more help with.

The article says I need to uninstall Office97 and Install Microsoft Office
97 SR-2. Can I simply download this patch without charge, and do I need to
do that using the computer which has Office97 installed?

Hi Rob,

Are they Excel files? If so, see this MS article:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/174658

If this is not it, please provide more info.
