You slipstream the SP2 download with the XP CD and then burn a new CD - the
new CD will then be an XP w/SP2.

Google slipstreaming for info and instructions. Also Google AutoStreamer and
see if it's still available as a download; it makes the slipstreaming
process easy.

i think something
like "barts pe" or
"ultimate boot cd"
automates the
slipstream process.

but what you might
also want to consider
before re installing from
scratch is reinstalling
from disk images(backup)
beforehand.

"drive image xml" and
then adding the plug-in
into bartspe will be a
good thing to keep handy.

That won't prevent "yje the normal reloading steps".
The only change will be in not having to click one time
to start SP2 loading. Big Deal.

You'd save quite a bit of time by slipstreaming SP2 into your
original CD's installation files and creating a new installation CD.
