XP Boot Up Problems

All of a sudden when I boot up - I get the Windows XP booting up with the
logo and scroll bar, then most of the time it will go to a blank screen only
showing my mouse cursor. Safe mode also shows only cursor and "Safe Mode" in
the corners so I know it's nothing to do with display. Once in a while it
will boot up with the "driver irql not less or equal" error, once in 20 times
I can get it to boot up normal- at which time a ran all anti-virus, check
disk, defragged, spyware, etc.....
If I can get it to come up again - any suggestions on what to do next? I
would like to not have to re-install XP and lose all programs and files I
have on there over the last 5 years!

Update - this only happens when the machine has been on or warm - it boots
right up first thing in morning or after a lengthy powered off period - any
thoughts?

The exact stop error is:
0X 000000D1 (0X00000000, 0X00000007, OXF7A307EF)
I already updated my logitech driver
