Can someone tell me how to create a boot floppy I can use
to bring up XP system and get to C drive. Xp is corrupted
and I need to be able to get to C to save off files. If
would be great if boot disk could also enable CD ROM
support. I don't want to reinstall XP, just want to boot
start PC, save some files then reinstall operating system
from restore CD.

Thanks in advance.

If your hard drive is NTFS formatted, you'll have difficulty salvaging your
information, as a boot disk will either be DOS based, with no access to
NTFS, or will be a boot disk set, which will allow you to get into Recovery
Console, but will limit access to specific directories.

For DOS boot disks, see www.bootdisk.com for the files needed to create one.

Ken may want to download the free version of ntfsdos, which will
give him access to NTFS files. That should let him copy his
files.

True, if he has a FAT/FAT32 drive/partition to copy them to. Or they're
small enough to fit on a floppy :-)
