Hello, I wish to use a boot disc to add expanded memory to dos. Unfortunately I have the ntfs file system. Is there any way to get around this and use my boot disc?

Rick,

The file system on your hard disk has nothing to do with your ability to
boot to a DOS boot disk and use expanded memory or anything else, EXCEPT you
will not be able to access the contents of your hard drive.

What exactly are you trying to do ?

I am trying to run an old dos game that requires XMS/EMS to run. As my system is currently set up, I don't have enough of either allocated to run the game. However, I do have a boot disc that can fix this problem. Unfortunately, my computer will not run a boot disc, I just get the invalid system disc message upon restarting. I have heard that the XP feature ntfs makes boot discs useless, if this is incorrect then I have no idea what the problem is.

Rick,

If the game will execute under Windows XP then look into using a PIF file to
control memory allocation to the process.
This is covered in the Help and Support
