XP system, Dell 4500 computer: blue screen appears at
random declaring it is due to file mrtrate.sys and the
computer reboots.
I localized the file in System32 with two other of the
same group. They belong to a software called MARIMBA. The
manufacturer says it comes probably from Quicken and is
not vital.
I try to delete this file and get the message ACCESS
DENIED. Tried all kinds of "delete"that occurred to me.

Ideas? Thanks in advance!

Try renaming the file and then deleting it. I had this
problem once too and it turned out to be a virus.
Couldn't delete the file but once renamed I could.

Good luck
