XP Blue screen IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

Hi
I cannot boot XP Pro into either standard or safe mode because I get a Blue
Screen saying:

A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage
to your computer.
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
........
Technical information:
*** STOP: 0x0000000A (0xF8A59354, 0x00000001, 0x8050FD7F)

This started when I tried to install a Tablet device.

I've searched around the net tried the various things that people (and
Microsoft) suggest but to no avail. I have a system state back up from a
couple of months back but all of the solutions to restore it involve
starting in Safe Mode but I can't get to that mode.

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks
Steve

In the menu where you select Safe Mode is an option for Last
Known Good Configuration: This option starts Windows by
using the previous good configuration. Have you tried this?

What was the Tablet device you tried to install?

Hope this helps.

Hi Gerry
Unfortunately I have already tried Last Known Good Configuration but it
didn't work.

The tablet device was from Trust - 200-V2 Wireless Tablet.

Thanks
Steve
