Is there a way to compress the data from the backup?

The backup size is barely noticably smaller than the
original folder size, and I want to compress it so it
doesn't take all that room (plus i don't have that much
room free).
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

So there is no way to compress my data during a backup? I
would have to let it get done copying a 20 gig drive to
some place with enough room (I can tell you now, I don't
have 20 gigs free anywhere...) and THEN compress it
manually?

Why use the backup feature in XP then?
Its easier to just copy the stuff from one hard drive to
the other, then copy it back when I reformat or
somethng... Plus I wouldn't have to use the slow restore
feature.

If the compression is not enough you might look to a third party backup
program.
