xp backup to new pc

I create a back up of my music files my documents etc on a weekly basis with
xp back up, is it possible to restore these files on to a new pc which Iwill
be buying shortly or can I only restore to the original pc.

They - and your whole documents file - can be easily copied to an
external drive and then placed wherever you want them on the new PC.

As long as XP doesn't cry foul over an ownership issue of the backup or its
restored files. Most likely, will be okay.

Some further insurance would be to copy the actual files to DVD/CD, or an
external hard drive in FAT32 format. There's no ownership coding for those
file systems.
