XP Backup locks up

When trying to start up XP Backup it locks up "Looking
for backup Devices..." and after waiting several minutes
it will show that it's NOT RESPONDING. No matter what I
do I can't get around this. Please help.

I just noticed my system also has this problem now but haven't found any solution here yet.
