Xp auto shutdown

For some reason no matter how I set the power down functions It won't
shutdowm. It will trun off the monitor and the drives but it won't go to
standby or hybernate. What files effect this?

Hi Jim,

Under Control Panel, Have you checked the box under the APM tab and the
Hibernate tabs?

Yes I have had it set to turn the monitor off at 10 minutes the hard drives
off at 15 minutes and power off at 45. It has always worked. Now it turns
off the monitor and the drives but not the system. I just experimented with
the Hybernate. At one minute it hybernates. I go back to have it go to
standby at 1 minute and it won't.
I gues I will just use the hybernate setting and forget it.
