XP audio problem

I have a dual drive compouter, XP and Me. On XP I keep
getting the strange sound of a squeaky door opening or
pots and pans falling, coming through my speakers. This
only happens in XP not in Me. I can't releate it to
anything I'm doing. It will happen 5-6 times in a four
hour peroid. I don't know where to begin to solve this
