XP and the tablet....
i am trying to network my tablet to my xp pro machine. i want to share my books folders.
the thing is i can see any of the shared folders on the table from the xp machine but as soon as i try to connect to the xp machine from the tablet it tells me access denied "you might not have permission to use this resource".
they are both in the same workgroup,
i can ping each of the machines from either end,
the local security settings "access this computer from the network" has only everyone in it,
in the services "server" is running as is "computer browser".
they are set to simple file sharing( i have tried not simple file sharing and making new share's)
i have changed the "restrictanonymous" key to a hex '0'
i have set the NETBIOS tcp/ip to enable on both machines.
i am using a d-link router 624 the filters are off
tried static and dynamic ip's
i tried using both cable and wireless( i dont have a switch or cross over cable so i cant take out the router)
if i type "desktopbooks" i get the index of all of my files in the browser.
and they still wont share
is there anything else i can try other than a format of my desktop?
