Hi,

I've a problem after installing the SP1 pack on the system.
The install process is ended normally and when the system
asked me to reboot, I clicked OK.

When the system gives me the possibility to log me on
windows, the system tells me that it cannot control the
activation key.

Of course, my Windows XP pro version is avtivated for one
month.

Does someone has an idea about what happened during the
installation of SP1.

Actually I cannot even type in the activation key nor
doing anything only shutdown the computer.

Must I re-install Win XP pro or not?

My computer is not connected to Internet, I've activate
win XP by phone.

Thanks for your help.

Jango, are you saying that you wish to download SP-1 to an unactivated
(30-day grace period) XP?
And, are you expressing puzzlement at the difficulty of doing so?
Have you stopped to think why this might be?

It's hard to say this...the original message is unclear. Jango, did
you mean you activated the product one month ago, or are you still in
the 30 day "trial" period after which if you don't activate you don't
have an OS?

I see what you mean. Jango may speak a Latin-derived language, and therefore
means that he has been activated for a month already....
Any alternative to reinstallation?

OK guys, more precisions.

My XP pro has been installed and has been activated during
the month of september.

Last week, I've downloaded the SP1 and have upgraded the
OS. Since this date, I cannot open a session because of a
system message saying approximatively that windows cannot
control the activation key and must exit when I try to log
in.

Can you help me in this problem?

Thanks for all suggestions.
