Xp And Raid 0

Can any one help an old man? I have 2 SATAHHD in a raid 0 config. Bio
is sata raid v 5.1.39 from silicon image. Motherboard is a A8N-SL
Deluxe. Bios sees the HHD but window doesn't.
The driver for Raid is installed. At present I am using an IDE HHD

You say the raid driver _IS_ installed, so can you see the array in Disk
Manager? If so then xp can see it, you now need to partition and format
it (in Disk Manager); then you will see it in Explorer with a drive
letter. If DM does not see it then I'd say the driver install is not OK,
or you did not "init" the array w/ the raid bios; this bios is usually a
seperate bios, not part of the main bios, and you need to hit a key at
boot time to make that bios come up - read the boot-up screen carefully,
it should display a line about "press XX to enter Silcone Image BIOS".

I haven't used that specifci raid interface, but this is how most of them
work. check you motherboard's docs, or ask in the Asus forum. This board
has two sata interfaces, one on the nVidia chip, one on the SIL 3114, and
they use different drivers.

If the RAID configuration is set up properly,and you see the post BIOS RAID
configuration at start up,then you simply need to install silicon image
software,
you can get that from thier home page.
