Hello: Somewhat new to XP and computers. Is it possible in XP Home to setup
more than one printer. My wife has started a business where she uses the
printer almost all day. I would like to be able to print something while
hers is chuggin away. Any help appreciated in terms of hardware/software
needed or change in settings. Also, have 512 mem, P4comp, nic card etc.

Yes, but you need ways to connect multiple printers to the same
computer, e.g. multiple LPT or USB ports.

Just install it.

Your bigger problem will be to figure out how to share the single XP
Home computer between the two of you.

You don't mention LAN access to the XP Home machine for printing. Is
this what you are trying to do? If yes ... why not simply install
second printer on your machine. Keep it simple.

Hope this is useful to you. Let us know.

Shouldn't be a problem. Your computer has multiple USB ports, right?
And nearly all printers sold today connect via USB. So just plug your
new printer into an empty USB port, and configure it according to the
directions (you may have to put a CD that comes with the printer into
the CD reader). You'll be able to select which printer to use via a
drop-down box.

Thanks to Rob. Have 4 usb ports so will do that. What she does is get a
couple of large print jobs going, then leaves to do other things so computer
itself is available, I just can't print. Will buy cheapie for myself and do
as you suggested.

Thanks Tim: Will buy cheapie and set up so I can use it while her jobs are
printing on the fancy printer
