After failing to successfully install XP2, I uninstalled Microsoft XP.
Now I am wanting to reinstall XP over Windows 98.
I am getting an installation error because the program is finding a
Microsoft Shared Fax Client.
I have search my system and cannot find this fax client any where.
I had been told to delete fxsclnt.exe but that did not work.
I need help?????

If you didn't install XP, you can't uninstall it. You can't uninstall an
operating system anyway. Can't tell what you're trying to install. W98, SP2
or XP? You say "Now I am wanting to reinstall XP over Windows 98."
Whatever you're trying to install/reinstall--you should reformat the drive
and start over. A clean install will solve your problems.

I am trying to upgrade to XP again.
MY machine originally had Windows 98.
I upgraded to XP. then SP1.
I then upgraded to SP2 but had some problems.
I uninstalled XP to where I am today, back to Windows 98.
When trying to run the upgrade version windows XP,
I get an error saying I need to remove Microsoft Shared Fax Client.
IF XP can find this file, why does it just tell me where it is so I can
remove it?
This would be really simple, instead of saying we found a problem, now Mr.
USER go find where the problem is located yourself.

I am sure a clean install or a restore of window 98 would solve my problem
then upgrade to XP again but where would I store all my docs and pics?
