XP and FAX

I occasionally use Microsoft FAX to send and receive faxes. Now I find
that something has happened since I successfully received my last fax in
October. My computer says that I am receiving the fax, but the other phones
in the house continue to ring and the fax fails. Uninstalling and
reinstalling Microsoft FAX from the XP Home CD did not help. The Event
Viewer shows: Error -- Microsoft Fax -- Inbound -- Event 32092. I don't see
any problems in Device Manager.

Can it be assumed that you are using a phone modem - and not a broadband
DSL or cable connection? If not, then THAT is the problem.
