I would like to know if I can have 2 OS, win 2000 and win
xp. The software I am tied to at my business is only
compatible with win 2k. If it is possible, tell me how to
install the win 2000 pro disk I have.

You certainly can. Here is the simple approach:
1. Install Win2000 into its own folder.
2. Boot into Win2000.
3. Pop in your WinXP CD.
4. Unhide & unprotect these files:
c:\ntldr, c:\ntdetect.com
5. Replace the above files with their equivalents
from the WinXP CD.

My preferred approach is to install the two OSs in
mutually invisible partitions. This requires a third-party
boot loader, e.g. XOSL (free!). It also requires an
initial effort to become familiar with the chosen boot
loader.
