xp- active x controls

In my dual boot c/win 2k and d/win xp and booting in win xp I was able to
surf but sometimes I get the message that the page cannot be display because
of the setting of the active x that prohibits the display. Ths even apply to
ms.com website. The IE security has been set to default while the privacy
been set as lowest level.
Sometimes while rebooting it, the problem does not arise but I may get the
message upon the nexzt surf page.

I do not have any firewall except avg 7.5 and spybot 1.4

It seems to me there is a bug somewhere in the internet so justwonder if
anyone experience this and howd did u resolve this

Download and use www.Opera.com it doesn't run ActiveX and safer
because of it.

You shouldn't run ActiveX read MS's view on it

Hello,

If you are using IE6, try running it with add-ons disabled. Start Internet
Explorer as normal, Tools, Manage Add-ons, Enable or Disable Add-ons.
Disable all the add-ons and enable them one by one till the problem appears
and you get the culprit.

If you are using IE7, go to Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools >
Internet Explorer 7 (No Add-ons) to start without any add-ons. Close the
browser and see whether the problem occurs again.

If the problem does not occur again, start IE7, go to Tools > Manage Add-ons
and disable all the add-ons and enable them one by one till the problem
appears and you get the culprit.

Add-ons. The dialog box shows Mails and News, Pop up Manager, Synchronize,
WU, Java and IOption. So what can I do next?.....Thanks

Hello,

Start > Control Panel > Internet Options > Advanced (tab) > UNCHECK "Enable
third-party browser extensions" > OK

If it works now, one of your add-ons is causing the problem.

You will need to install SP2 to configure add-ons, or you can use HijackThis
to remove Browser Helper Objects (BHO) which is not undoable, so I would
recommend installing SP2 first if add-ons are causing problems
