XP Activation

Hi,

I just tried to install Windows XP SP2 and have found out that the copy of
windows loaded onto my machine is illegal. So I have gone to the shop and
bought a copy of Windows XP Professional. How do I go about activating and
changing product key.

Does it not give you the 28 days to activate it? Dont you see the activate
windows icon next to the time? the 2 keys?

You should perform a repair installation f the existing Windows system.

It will request the Product ID during the installation: activation will be
automatically requested when Windows installation is complete.

Make sure thsat you choose to install over the existing Windows as a Repair
installtion.
