Having downloaded the files for installing the XP 64 OS i have been unable to
make a bootable disc for installing the system. I have made a bootbale cd, an
ISO cd, a data cd and none will work. i have unrared the files and opened the
resulting file and put them onto a disc (hope that is the right way).

after making the bootable disc and changing the bios boot sequence i got the
following message

starting caldera DR-DOS
EMM386 3.27 Copyright (c) 1992, 1998 Caldera inc. All Roghts Reserved
EMM386 Warning: Address line A20 Already enabled
Frame = D000 Kb =

All the discs except the "bootable" one i made just results in the pc
booting from the hdd into xp home edition, regardless of the boot sequence
Am i making the disc correctly or is there another problem i am not spotting?

i have an athlon 64 3200+ 1024mb RAM

With 2000 and XP, you can not make a bootable floppy disc. You should be
able to download a set of 2000, of XP, install floppy discs from Microsoft.
