Don't jump to conclusion AH
You mean as you also did?
The CD may have legitimately become lost. Things like that do
happen!!
Um, notice the request from the OP which said, "Does anyone have an iso
they could send me or somethin". He wants to contract you as his acting
pirate. For a legitimate replacement, just follow the Contact Us link
at the bottom of Microsoft's home page to get to the Customer Service
Solution Center. The contact link is right there to get a replacement.
There will be a shipping cost.
However, if it is an OEM version of Windows XP, it is highly likely that
he will need to contact whomever is the vendor for that OEM version and
get a replacement from them. It is also possible, depending on the
vendor, that an install CD was never provided. The recovery image is in
a hidden partition on a hard disk. He needs to follow the instructions
in the manual to restore to that factory-time image. While some
computers allow access to the image by using a boot-time option, the
instructions usually mention how the user should burn their own backup
CDs. Hard disks do fail.
Because of the dearth of details regarding what version of Windows XP
x64 that he has (full, upgrade, OEM and which brand) but with his
mention of "acquiring" a copy through Torrent or something doling out an
..iso file, my conclusion is not far-fetched.
