xlsx password protected

An ex employee password protected a xlsx (excel 2007) file. She was not
authorized to do this but did it anyway. Legal matters aside, is there a
way to reset this pw or open this xlsx file? She probably used a strong
password.

No back-ups from before she sabotaged it?

Well, She got mad and quit- we cant reach her. -our mistake we should have
seen it coming. All backups we pulled were PW protected. She was the
only one that used it. We could recreate it but it would take a few hours.
Would that be easier than trying to crack the PW? We'll take care of the
legal issue after we assess damage.

I think any reply to this post is to be avoided. The original poster can
take legal action. Any reply from us could be illegal.
