Think I did the right thing, was notified my copy of windows xp pro was
bogus, paid the 149.00 to ms and recieved a cd in mail. installed it told it
I wanted to register and it won't boot completely. it tells me I have no
internet connection to register and I can't use it without registering
.....welll duuuuh I have no internet connection because it doesnt allow my
system to come up to load my software and connect to
my cable modem...........help?

You should tell it that you don't want to register. Later on you can
register by the internet or by phone.

And, there's a difference between Activation and Registration. Your copy of
XP must be activated within 30 days - registration entitles you to certain
types of tech support.

You don't have to register the software. That's optional and offers no
advantage to you. Now if you're talking about activation, that is
mandatory. It should give you a phone number to call. It can be done
over the phone.

Thanx for your reply it helped I didnt realize the difference between
activation and registration
