Xcel and Powerpoint

I have purchased a lap top with Microsoft Worksuite 2004
for my daughter at uni. She now tells me that she needs
Xcel and Powerpoint. I am not very computer literate and
would welcome some assistance as to what additional
software I should be purchasing. I have today looked at
Office for students, which appears to have the necessary
software but at a cost of £120. Is there a cheaper way
of doing this. I would be very grateful for assistance.

The Academic version of Office is the least expensive way to purchase
those programs.

Jenny, Bob's right. The Academic version (Office for Students) is the
least expensive way to purchase this.

However, have your daughter check with her university. I know that at
least one university in my area has Office CDs and downloads available
for the students for as little as $5. (It's some kind of volume license
thing the university has set up with MS, is my understanding.)
