playing sound on PowerPoint

My daughter is working on a powerpoint for school which includes music. She
can't seem to get the songs to work which came from Itunes. Is it not
possible to use a song in PowerPoint which was purchased and downloaded onto
our computer from Itunes?

Thanks for any info - we are both plugging away at PowerPoint for the first
time.

Digital Rights Management prevents the use of Itunes downloads in PPT and
many other programs.

You may be able to convert the song into another format using a sound
editing program (not the one that is included with Windows) and it may strip
the DRM from the file. Then it can be used.

This is one of my biggest gripes about iTunes music. You buy a song
legitimately and you are only allowed to play it on one device and from one
applciation.

Absurd.

As a result, I use Any Sound Recorder or Audacity and I record a purchased
song while it is playing in iTunes. The MP3 file that I subsequently save is
indistinguishable from the original. More important, that MP3 file can be
imported to PowerPoint.
